Island Peak trip 2010 - trek and climb in Nepal.

Island Peak Itinerary Oct/Nov 2010
 
Day 1     Arrive Kathmandu
Day 2     Kathmandu.  1400m. Shopping/sightseeing
Day 3 Kathmandu. A walk! Nagarkot maybe (to 2000m). Last chance to shop
Day 4. Early flight to Lukla. Lunch. Trek to Phakding 2600m
Day 5.  Trek to Namche Bazaar. 3440m
Day 6 Namche Bazaar. Rest, museums, local walk to viewpoint 3600m
Day 7 Namche Bazaar. Acclimatization trek, maybe Thame valley to approx 4000m
Day 8     Trek to Kanjuma 3800m via Everest View 3900m
Day 9     Trek to Tengboche 3860 Puja at monastery
Day 10   Trek to Pangboche 3930m. Acclimatisation trek to approx 4500m maybe Mingbo valley
Day 11   trek to Dingboche 4410m
Day 12   Dingboche. Rest day. Maybe Visit Pheriche clinic for altitude lecture
Day 13 Dingboche. Acclimatisation trek to approx 5000m maybe Nangkartshang gompa
Day 14 trek to Chukhung 4730m. Climb Chukhung  Ri 5500m
Day 15   Trek to Island Peak base camp 4930m
Day 16   Climb to High camp 5600m
Day 17   Summit Island peak 6189m and descend to base camp
Day 18   Trek to Chukhung. Rest or extra day for bad weather/contingencies
Day 19   Trek to Pangboche/Deboche/Tengboche or wherever
Day 20   Trek to Namche Bazaar
Day 21 Early start for trek to Lukla
Day 22   Early flight to Kathmandu.
Day 23.Optional rafting trip. Bhote Khosi
